Erin Orlo
Erin has had a passion for horses for as long as she can remember. After years of begging her mother for riding lessons, she finally began lessons at age ten—an activity her mom assumed would be short‑lived. Instead, it quickly became clear that this was no passing phase. By pure chance, Erin’s first barn was a Saddlebred training and lesson facility owned by Helen Cherry, sparking what would become a lifelong connection to the American Saddlebred world. Though she has ridden a variety of breeds and disciplines over the years, she has always found her way back to Saddlebreds, drawn to both the horses themselves and the community that makes the industry so special. Growing up in Southern California, Erin showed on the West Coast circuit throughout her Junior Exhibitor years under the direction of Jim and Helen Cherry as well as Bill Tomin. As an adult, she moved to the Pacific Northwest, where she continued riding with Dick Boettcher and Eduardo Castillo and served on the Northwest Saddlebred Association board of directors. Today, Erin proudly shows under the Bluebonnet Farm banner with trainer Sandy Currier at shows across Texas and Kentucky. Her passion for Saddlebreds fuels her commitment to fostering a fun, welcoming environment for newcomers and seasoned exhibitors alike. Serving on the TASHA board of directors allows her to give back to the industry that has given her so much, and she is honored and excited to bring her experience, enthusiasm, and dedication to the TASHA show circuit.
